The Diaspora’s Role in National Reform

Lebanon’s global community is a reservoir of knowledge, networks, capital, and public influence—not merely a financial lifeline.

Context

Millions of Lebanese abroad maintain deep social, cultural, professional, and economic ties to Lebanon. Their contribution is too often reduced to remittances. A serious national strategy should create transparent pathways for diaspora expertise, investment, policy participation, mentoring, institutional partnerships, and democratic engagement.

The Circle’s position

The diaspora should be treated as a strategic partner in reform through credible institutions, transparent opportunities, and meaningful civic participation.

Why It Matters

A stronger partnership can transfer skills, open markets, support education and innovation, improve advocacy, and reconnect younger generations with a constructive national project.
